Who can be a team?

Can a team be made up of runners and walkers, and of individuals registered in different course distances?

Answer:

Yes! A team can be made up of runners and walkers and individuals participating in the 3KM, 5KM or 10KM events.

What does the money raised go towards?
Question:

If I raise money for Wellspring Calgary what does the money I raise go towards?

Answer:

All funds raised go directly to Wellspring Calgary and will enable the organization to offer programs and services to people living with cancer in the future.

Kit pick up?
Question:

When and where is kit pick up?

Answer:

We will be hosting “distant” kit pick-up outside at Wellspring Calgary’s Carma House (1404 Home Rd NW) on Friday, September 11th from 2 PM to 7 PM and on Saturday, September 12th from 9 AM to 1 PM

Do all participants need to be registered?

Do all participants need to be formally registered?

Answer:

Yes, the City Of Calgary requires the event organizer to require all participants to be formally registered and the event insurer also requires this so that all registrants fall within the insurance coverage.

Who is eligible to win door prizes?

Will all registrants and event volunteers be eligible to win the door prizes?

Answer:

First, please check out the www.lightitupcalgary.ca website to see the many and wonderful door prizes available. Door prize draws and the awarding of the Kevin Kaminski Top Fundraiser prize will occur on Facebook live on September 19th at 6 PM. All event registrants will be eligible for door prizes. Door prize winners will receive notice of their win via email.

Is Wellspring Calgary still able to offer support to those impacted by cancer during the pandemic?

Answer:

Wellspring Calgary is in fact busier than ever. After suspending face-to-face programs on March 13th, Wellspring was able to convert programs to videoconference and phone. In four months of online and phone programs Wellspring has served over 700 people visiting 122 programs over 7000 times. That is over 40% of everyone Wellspring Calgary supported in 2019. Wellspring is pleased to continue to be welcoming new members from across southern Alberta every day.
